As a New Yorker, I appreciate basic black clothes, but I also love statement pieces, like the purple Versace jacket from yesterday’s post. In this week’s YouTube video, I talk about buying distinctive clothes and letting go of the fear that anything interesting will look “last season.”
If my fidgeting with the jacket in the video drives you a little crazy, you’re not alone. I wanted to slap my own hands when I watched it! But that’s even more of a reason to subscribe to my YouTube channel: You have to keep tuning in to see if I ever figure out what to do with my hands!

I personally LOVE this jacket – it’s so awesome, and like nothing else, and of course, that’s what a statement piece is all about. I think my entire wardrobe is statement pieces at this point (designer and not). Latest finds: a 2010 Ted Baker dress ($32.95) and a DvF wrap dress from 2014 ($24.95). My Fluevogs are also all statement pieces, not a boring or basic pair there!
Great video again, Wendy. I didn’t even notice your hands!

I love your Fluevog collection! Definitely statement pieces.
And thanks for ignoring my nervous hands. LOL!

I do love this jacket. And I have really been enjoying your videos. I know I sent you Joan as Policewoman on Instagram, but I was inspired to alert you to another group! Have you listened to London Grammar? The latest album is awesome. It’s so power rock, dramatic 80’s vibe. I love it. Even though we have never met, sometimes things remind me so strongly of you! It’s probably all the posts about 80’s earrings, which I love. Also the songs Oh Woman Oh Man and especially Hell to the Liars remind me of things you have written or tweeted about. Anyway, talk to you later.

I’m going to iTunes right now! Thank you so much for the recommendation! <3

P.S. I love “Oh Woman Oh Man”!
