While I was packing for last week’s trip to Los Angeles, I remembered that I had unintentionally worn the same outfit and posed in the exact same location on L.A. visits in March 2008 and December 2008. This called for a three-peat, so I packed my Black Halo top, black Acne jeans, 16-year-old Karl Lagerfeld shoes and my Prada Gaufre bag — deliberately, this time. Guess which photo is from which trip!
[UPDATED MAY 2012 TO NOTE THAT THERE WAS A SLIDESHOW HERE BUT IT WAS LOST WHEN SLIDE.COM SHUT DOWN.]
Give up? Here are the 2008 photos.
I also brought my tiger-stripe Clovis Ruffin dress.
Dress: Clovis Ruffin from eBay
Necklace: My own Cleopatra design
Shoes: Those Lagerfelds again
Lip color: Lasting Lust by MAC
As I mentioned in my epic post on Sex and the City 2, I was thrilled to see a one-shoulder dress on Kim Cattrall that looked so similar to my dress that I’m convinced it is a Clovis. If anyone finds out for sure, let me know.
To see my L.A. blogger bitches, I wore the same Alexander McQueen dress I wore for a blogger meet-up in Phoenix.
Dress: Alexander McQueen (2010)
Necklace, purse, shoes and lip color: all the same as above
Of course, I had all my L.A. wimmins wear the silver Cleopatra earrings just like the New York bloggers did.
Here are Alicia of Instant Vintage and Sister Wolf of Godammit I’m Mad looking matchy-matchy in their Cleopatra earrings and red lipstick.
Deja Pseu of Une Femme d’un Certain Age was covered in my work. In addition to the Cleopatra earrings she wore her own engraved Diana necklace …
… and we made sure to point out her custom engagement ring! I still have to write a post about how we redesigned her original ring and came up with the new piece.
Meanwhile, Kelsi of Stylesmith and Dedicated Follower of Fashion wore just one earring. Read why here.
I missed getting close-ups of Miss Janey and Sandra but luckily they did their own posts! Check out them out here and here. Alicia and Kelsi wrote posts too. Sadly, I missed seeing some bloggers completely. If you’re an L.A. blogger who didn’t get to join us, holla at me in the comments so I can create an e-mail list and include you next time.
That tiger stripe dress is awesome! I love that you got all the ladies together for the premiere. Every time I see the commercial with someone near me (could be a stranger, doesn’t matter), I’m all, “I know the delightful woman who made those!”
you look lovely in all the photos…as do all the ladies rockin the cleopatra earrings!

Yeah…I notice that I never get invited to these shindigs….Is it because I don’t have the uber fab Cleopatra earrings?

Love the first outfit. Pure casual glamour! I accidentally wore triple denim yesterday and will be posting soon – are you still interested, or are you over the Texan Tuxedo?

Okay, my guess for most recent is the one with the white tablecloth (before getting the answer). I find it so amusing when people find themselves doing the same things again; we are truly creatures of habit. Okay now… MEEEEEOOOOOW! RAWR! PURRRRR! That’s my way of saying I love your tiger stripes.
Man, those Cleopatra earrings look great on EVERYONE!
Love that Clovis dress!
I love that animal print dress – it looks awesome with your Cleopatra necklace!
Lol! Don’t you hate when that happens ;o)
Well I can’t tell! You haven’t changed a bit in the last two years!
This is a great way to keep your weight in check. Love the pictures!

Haha ‘three-peat’! Excellent!
I seriously adore that tiger dress.
PS – Your swear rings are the dream I am aspiring to, but my shoddy Topshop knuckle duster will have to suffice until I get a proper job 😉
They WERE made for my head!!!
I love your outfit repeats and three-peats. I can’t tell which is which.

I can guess which photo was done in December: the one with the heavy white brocade tablecloth on the table.
I love that McQueen dress; what a great bunch of prints!
Everyone looked great, and it looked like a fun evening. I hope to be there next time (dang car)!
Wow, I loooove the earrings and jewellery. I was so excited when I finally went to see SATC2 last week and saw your earrings on the big screen. Amazing!!
Oh and how funny you wore the same outfit/posed the same for each separate visit! You look awesome in that tiger print dress and McQueen…what can I say? You look fab!
I still cant get over 16 year old shoes… OMG talk about quality.
Your animal print dress is fabulous and your Cleopatra necklace is perfect!
Love the photos. The one earring looks pretty good too 🙂
ahh and that gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress…love 🙂
Thank you for your comment. 🙂
The answer to your question: I don’t wear red lipstick to match my shoes. I actually don’t wear lipstick. BUT when I do wear lipstick, I use nude colors. My lips are quite big, I don’t want to put too much accent on it. 🙂

You ladies are so cute! I need to get me a pair of those earrings!
The 3 pictures are proof that you are not aging AT ALL. Also, there seems to have started a real earring mania… Congrats & more!
Very sad I missed you girls! Hopefully I won’t be living in the boonies next time you come back.
can’t get over those gorgeous earrings!
Do you have any old clothes you never wear anymore that you want to donate to me??
