At the Independent Fashion Blogger meetup in New York last month, a gorgeous blogger nagged me to set up a Facebook fan page for my jewelry line. I think it might have been Vyque. If it wasn’t Vyque, I’m blaming her anyway.

I reacted to this idea about as well as Dee from What’s Happening reacted to Raj’s trying to rush her through her strawberry milkshake.

Back off!

How am I supposed to keep up with all this shizz? I have the blog, Twitter, personal Facebook, some MySpace account I haven’t checked in a year, a LinkedIn account that I forgot the password to, an Iqons account that I liked except it wasn’t very user friendly and so on. Plus, I have to read 50 million blogs, give or take a few. But if a smart young lady like Vyque tells me to do something, I figure I better do it. And guess what? The fan page is a great place to collect all the photos of gorgeous clients wearing WendyB jewelry. The official Wendy Brandes website is reserved for the serious studio photography. I’ve posted the client photos on the blog, but they’re scattered throughout all the posts and hard to find. Now I can put the client photos in one place and, as you’ll see, pictures of the jewelry on actual people give you a better sense of the size of the pieces than pictures of the jewelry in isolation.

Even better from my point of view is that peeps can post their OWN photos of themselves in WendyB jewelry in the fan album. If I haven’t posted your photo yet in my album, feel free to do it yourself and save Mama a little bit of work. She’s got 50 million blogs to read.

Become my Facebook fan right here, right now!

That is a great idea…to have that Facebook page be for customers phoots in the jewlery.

It does give customers an idea of what the size of the jewelry is and how it may look on the hand, neck, finger, or ear.

I may have to fan the facebook page.

^^SnapandPrint, you “MAY” have to fan the Facebook page? “MAY”? Do you want me to send Dee to discuss this with you? Don’t bring that down on yourself! She’s not a softie like me!

I became a fan but I can’t see the link to post a pic of me in your squirrel necklace! I blame the many hours I spend staring at my computer screen–I’m probably slowly going blind even as I type this comment.

    MP, yes, I’m waiting!

Lisa, there should be a section called Fan Photos, but if you don’t see it, don’t worry, you’re on my list of peeps to post! I just had to take a break…

How many hours a day do you spend blogging Wendy? I see your pretty face everywhere. I feel like I must be your stalker.

How do you keep up with all the technology – that’s something I’ve not figured out!

Dang, I don’t know how you do it all and get any sleep at night!

    It’s a great-looking page, and I’m glad I became it’s first fan!

Now stop harassing me, and get away from my strawberry shake.

I have so many Facebook friend requests or whatever they are, but I just don’t have time to blog, Tweet, and Facebook. I also have a LinkedIn account which I only visit sporadically.

It’s crazy isn’t it…my blog, 2 emails, facebook, linkedin, some other business site I can’t remember the name of that a granite seller aske me to join, foodbuzz, blogcatalog…I feel too connected and overwhelmed at times. I don’t even look at most of my accounts. A friend wants me to do twitter and my husband wants me to buy an iPhone, but I don’t know if I want to be that connected All of the time. Although, I will join your facebook group!

I can so relate – so much onlining to do, so little time. And I don’t even tweet!

But I bet the fan page will do some of the work on its own, as you point out. An awesome online scrapbook of gorgeous clients.
