Watching the Sales

December 10, 2008 by WendyB

The Margiela wolf bag I’ve had my eye on is marked down to $719 from $1,195 on eLuxury. But that’s not quite far enough to make me buy it.

oh my, that is amazing! at this time of year, i couldn’t even afford it if it went down to $70 (mind you, I could probably make some concessions, ha!)
here’s hoping it gets marked down further for you wendy b!

No, it needs to be marked down more.

$719 is ridiculous for an impractical bag – albeit a fantastic, impractical bag!

Do you really love it? Really?

JDS, crazily, I do love it. But I’d love it a lot more for, oh, $250. I don’t think that’s going to happen though. Unless it turns up at Saks, where they’re giving stuff away in what seems like a going-out-of-business sale to me.

Oh, I love that bag too…it’s so tacky it’s a thing of beauty. eLuxury had an additional 25% off sale prices last weekend…give it a few weeks, I’m sure they’ll have another weekend with a larger reduction…and the bag will be yours.

Hebden, that would be so fabulous. I have to remember to keep monitoring it.

I know…it’s spooky. Saks and Neimans are having ridiculous sales on things that NEVER go on sale. I think the bag reminds me of a jean jacket my mother painted for me in her “crafty” stage. 2nd grade and I’m wearing this dorky jacket with a tiger growling on the back…must bring back bad memories for me!

I’d rather have that wolf on my bag than on my RV!

This is the great thing about blogs, things I’d put on my No-Buy List are someone else’s dream. I bet if I saw it on your arm, I’d admire it. But my own taste, conservative and older, says, gaaaaah.

Why so pricy still? Is it leather? Hmm I’m in two minds about the wolf print..
