Bows on an Angle

November 11, 2008 by WendyB

This butt bow is off to the side.

Dress by Twenty8Twelve
On sale for $144, down from $312, on ASOS

And my gorgeous father, GeorgeB, found an unusual vertical boob bow while walking past Dior and thoughtfully took a picture for us.

Thanks, GeorgeB!

Am I crazy to like the butt bow? Okay, I lied. I love it.

I am loving the “side butt bow”…I have a love for side bows and when my cardigans have a tie on them I tie them slightly off-center.

The boob bow…how interesting. I would have to see it in person to be able to tell if I liked the style or not. It gets a bit lost in the pattern in the photo.

snap and print – click on the photo and it blows up so you can see the bow. it’s kind of interesting — with the top smaller than the bottom — but it’s a lot of fabric in front.. how could it be flattering unless you are 6 pounds ?? kudos for george b.. for being so observant!!

I agree with petite dynamite about there being too much material at the front, and unless you are a stick figure it will look a bit strango. However I love the patten, and the fact that the bow is a bit different

Hmmm I clicked and looked but I would still hold my decision until I saw it in person.

It’s a side view photo and I would like to see it head-on to decide if it made a person look oddly pregnant or otherwise weird.

Your dad is really on the ball, Wendy! That’s a great catch.

I think if I was going for the boob bow, I’d like one that was rotated 90 degrees, like this one.

They look cute but I know if I was wearing the first dress that bow would be constantly untied and I’d probably step on it.

That Dior dress was one of the dresses worn by SJP and portrayed in Marie Claie which featured you, my dear!

I have the magazine and can’t stop ogling at the dress, of course I tell everyone to read your article too ;)!

I’m thinking of the side butt bow as a “saddlebag bow.” That dress annoys me. Inappropriate for anyone over the age of 12. The Dior, on the other hand…

Knot a fan of the bow butt. If I had to choose one of the two I would tie(try)the Dior.

Thank you so much for this post! You’ve manage to combine my 2 favorite things, Dior and window displays. You have no idea how much I just love window displays, for some odd reason.
