An Example of Extremely Poor Planning

July 17, 2008 by WendyB

Tomorrow is our last full day of vacation … and we’ll be spending it in Auschwitz.

I think I might have planned that better.

On a happier note, I enjoyed molesting some ivy in Krakow today. (I decided to give the flowers a break.)

Ivy League

We also visited some good kings and queens at Wawel Cathedral.

I’ve heard Auschwitz is quite a haunting experience. If you’re going to chronicle your visit on your blog, I’m looking forward to reading your impressions of the place.

I’m not sure if I’ll write about it, Lisa. I once went to Bergen-Belsen and didn’t really feel like sharing about it. But who knows, maybe I will need to vent.

Speaking of poor planning. First time I went to Paris, we shopped so much we did not go to the Louvre. What about that!!! Never again!

Note how much Poles love pork products by the fact that the snack shop in Auschwitz sells pork.

    Tasteful.

Well, that last day of vacation is not liable to be fun, but at least it will be meaningful.

I hope the flowers know how lucky they were today.

I loved Krakow when I went there. I didn’t expect it to be so pretty – the old square and market etc. Plus you can find some dirt cheap and good beer there. Not that I am that uncouth of course. OK yes, I am…
