What Wendy Wore: Gold Sequins for New Year’s Eve 2012

January 1, 2012 by WendyB

The color gold was on my mind as I got ready for New Year’s Eve. Much to my delight, it was on other people’s minds too. MrB and I gave gorgeous blogger/designer Stacy Lomman a ride to our dinner at Indochine. When Stacy turned up at our apartment wearing gold sequins that matched mine, I quickly emailed gorgeous blogger Tina Anderson. She’d been considering wearing the gold-sequin dress that she’d worn when she and I took a “twins” photo in Las Vegas in November.  I figured it would be fun to take a “triplets” photo.

Little did I know that my gorgeous friend Amanda (yes, all my friends are gorgeous, aren’t yours?) had gotten the gold-sequins memo too. We were able to take a “quadruplets” photo. Now I have the Golden Girls Gang that I’ve dreamed of since I got my Antik Batik gold sequin dress in 2008!

While we were posing for this photo, a random dude walked by and photographed us too. I think he should frame the photo and put it on his desk at work, but maybe I’m biased.

Two other guests got the leopard-print memo.

Jen and Debra. Grrrr.

More proof that great minds think alike!

UPDATED WITH MORE PHOTOS:

There’s at least one shot of every attendee in these photos.

Alyssa, Rob and Abby.

This is how Jesse would look if he won two Oscars.

Designing gentleman Zang Toi.

Kevin, Jen and Alyssa.

Christine, Jennine and Rocky.

Julie (who styled my hair for the evening) dancing with Jean-Marc, the owner of Indochine.

MrB and WendyB.

Here are a few extra shots that I happen to like.

Stacy looks sassy while secrets are shared behind her.

Debra and Stacy consider new careers as Vegas showgirls.

A hat and Champagne.

And, finally, one more closeup of the Golden Girls Gang.

From left: Amanda, WendyB, Tina, Stacy.

Hope all of you had a happy new year too!

    Simply gorgeous!

With that latest Minx manicure, you’d really be mixing metals.

It looks like the party was a lot of fun.
