Thanks to all you peeps who have inquired about Henry. I appreciate your concern! The surgery went well. The surgeon removed the abnormal tissue from Henry’s paw and created some nice new toes for him. It was like doggie plastic surgery! Of course, it wasn’t just cosmetic. We’re hoping the removal of the excess tissue will prevent Henry’s foot from getting swollen and/or infected so often. We won’t really know the results for two weeks or so. In the meantime, it feels like not much has changed at all, since he’s still wearing a cone on his head and a bandage on his paw. Here he is today…
…And here’s a picture from August. Same difference! Poor little man.
UPDATED IN JUNE 2010: This operation was a huge success. The paw is still deformed, of course, but doesn’t cause trouble like it used to. Henry hasn’t worn the e-collar since the surgery. Thank you to Dr. Jennifer Chaitman at VIMA and to the surgeons at the Animal Medical Center for changing Henry’s life. I couldn’t be happier.
Aww…what a cutie pie…feel better soon Henry 🙂

Henry’s had it pretty rough in some ways, but at least he’s got a brilliant owner who provides him with the care he needs, and who surrounds him with fantastic designer handbags and super color-coordinated accessories.
