I’d like to sell this one quickly because I prefer to concentrate on 18K gold. Email me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com if you want to know what the bargain price is for this adorable 14K ‘shroom with brown diamonds. It’s a WendyB bargain — trust! The same applies to the pear.

UPDATED TO ADD: As you might know, pure gold is 24K. Some jewelers use it but it’s really too soft, especially for rings and bracelets which are more likely to encounter hard surfaces. Other jewelers use 22K, which is still very soft and not a great idea for anything except earrings and necklaces. To make gold strong enough for everyday wear, it is combined with other metals like silver, copper, nickel and zinc. Gold that is 18K is 75% pure gold, plus the other metals, while 14K is 58.3% pure gold, plus other metals. It’s hard to tell the difference between 18K and 14K just by looking at it, especially when it has a shiny polish. When gold has a matte finish, I think there’s a subtle, important difference between the 18k and 14K look.

I’m happy that so many of you like the mushroom necklace featured in the post below.
