I noticed this pair by Ash on Saks.com<\/a> last weekend.<\/p>\n

They don’t make my heart sing so much that I want to order them, but if I wandered by them in a store, I’d probably stop to try them on. Anyway, I’ve already made a “shoes that shouldn’t have heels” purchase this year. I’m looking forward to wearing my high-heel, over-the-knee Tommy Hilfiger duck boots<\/a> soon.<\/p>\n

While writing this post, I had a vague thought: “Isn’t there a song about high-heeled sneakers?” That turned out to be an understatement (underthought?)! Blues singer Tommy Tucker’s 1964 song Hi-Heel Sneakers<\/a> has been recorded by over 200 artists, according to Wikipedia. Elvis, Janis Joplin<\/a>, my almost-husband Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder are just a few examples. I’ve selected some from YouTube. Tell me you don’t want high-heeled sneakers after listening to this song repeatedly. It’s hypnotic. Forget the wedges … bring on the sneaker stilettos<\/a>!<\/p>\n
