When Karla of Karla’s Closet modeled her peach American Apparel skirt<\/a> recently, this anonymous comment made me laugh out loud:<\/p>\n

Oh how glad I am you didn’t choose the purple Barney-esque color. I think a lot of your style originality comes from the fact that you can wear just about any brand (I even dare to say something like Abercrombie with it’s huge moose logo splattered across the front) without making it look tacky. I think the purple shade from AA is so tacky and name-brand-obvious when worn that it would have ruined anything you pared with it.

My favorite purple pieces are the jacket and skirt of a Versace suit I got a number of years ago. You’ve seen these photos before.<\/p>\n

I just realized that the prestigious American Apparel skirt will be fabulous with flower feet<\/a>. I’ll have to wear that combination soon.<\/p>\n
