Here’s my favorite photo from gorgeous blogger Stacy Lomman<\/a>‘s debut fashion show<\/a>: Stacy taking her end-of-show bow with a TALL runway model.<\/p>\n

A star is born! (And, yes, the model is wearing my Cleopatra earrings in silver.)<\/p><\/div>\n

Stacy financed her show through crowdfunding site Kickstarter<\/a>. I read about Kickstarter in the spring when four programmers used it to raise funds for Diaspora, a privacy-conscious alternative to Facebook.<\/a> Their goal was to raise $10,000; they got more than $200,000. That was a memorable factoid, so when Stacy said she wanted to do her own show, I suggested Kickstarter. Her initial fundraising goal was $6,000, and she got nearly $12,000 (every last penny was needed and spent!).<\/p>\n
