{"id":6556,"date":"2010-07-30T12:05:40","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T16:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/?p=6556"},"modified":"2010-12-17T22:42:21","modified_gmt":"2010-12-18T03:42:21","slug":"its-official-my-new-hero-is-antoine-dodson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/its-official-my-new-hero-is-antoine-dodson\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Official: My New Hero Is Antoine Dodson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In case you&#8217;ve lost track of the cast of characters in my life, here it is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My idol is <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/all-i-want-for-christmas-is-hot-coco\/\" target=\"_blank\">Coco<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My main pimp is <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2009\/01\/next-editor-of-vogue\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ice-T<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My greatest obsessions are <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/a-devastating-day-for-eyebrow-lovers\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Waterston&#8217;s eyebrows<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My musical goddess is <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/how-i-went-gaga\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lady Gaga<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t had a hero since 2008 when comedian <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2008\/11\/krazy-katt\/\" target=\"_blank\">Katt Williams went crazy<\/a>. I thought of placing some ads on Craigslist for a new hero, but highlarious blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/dlisted.com\/node\/38235\" target=\"_blank\">Michael K. of Dlisted<\/a> saved me from that effort by bringing <a href=\"http:\/\/dlisted.com\/node\/38231\" target=\"_blank\">Antoine &#8220;you can run and tell that&#8221; Dodson<\/a> to my attention. Antoine is a true sister-rescuing hero who wears a do-rag with aplomb and has no patience for dumb-asses who go around &#8220;snatching your people up.&#8221; Basically, he&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/truebloodwiki.hbo.com\/page\/Lafayette+Reynolds\" target=\"_blank\">Lafayette from True Blood<\/a> with even more sass and class.<\/p>\n<p>Watch this local news report on how Antoine saved his sister from a rapist.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/EzNhaLUT520?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/EzNhaLUT520?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m disappointed that the uptight white newscasters don&#8217;t react in any way to Antoine&#8217;s bravura performance. This kind of report calls for anchors who aren&#8217;t scared to do a little editorializing.
