The gorgeous Leah of Style for the Stay at Home Mom<\/a> came to town and we hit the downtown stores yesterday. Leah wanted to investigate Uniqlo (aka the Japanese Gap), so we started there. We weren’t particularly impressed by the merchandise. Even worse, I took what I thought was a good photo of Leah but since she didn’t like it, I had to delete it.<\/p>\n

We next went to the Soho Bloomingdale’s, which was a first for me. I fondled some panties printed with cupcakes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We both opted for ruffled, leopard-printed ones instead. No, Pistols<\/a>, I did not take a picture of us having a pillow fight while wearing matching leopard panties. Leah admired a halter top by Converse by John Varvatos. I should have made her try it on. Leah, is this<\/a> it?<\/p>\n

After testing some Jo Malone scents, we wandered into some more neighborhood stores, including If<\/a>, where we saw the Martin Margiela “black bar” sunglasses that made such a splash on the runway<\/a>. The shades blended into my dark bangs; they looked much more spectacular on Leah. She was camera-shy and wouldn’t pose in them. Neither of us wanted to try on these cameltoe shoes…<\/p>\n

…so off we went to the Jonathan Adler store where we laughed over these jars.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Then we went to Frock<\/a>, my friend Evan’s vintage store on Orchard Street. Leah and I both tried on some vintage Thierry Mugler and I finally got a picture of her.<\/p>\n

Here’s a closer look at the INSANE Mugler jacket I tried on. I look kind of nuts myself. Yikes!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We didn’t take a photo of the Ossie Clark dress I bought (I shouldn’t have, but I’m weak!) but I did get to take this candid of Evan and Leah studying her camera. How cute are they!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The paparazzi contemplate the tools of their trade<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

After all this excitement, we needed some refreshment so we stopped by the Pink Pony. This review<\/a> of the restaurant cracks me up. I, for one, did not notice any “hipsters.” Does that mean that Leah and I WERE the hipsters? Hmmm ….<\/p>\n
