Also relevant is this Jan. 30, 2020, BBC story by Cath Pound about a Fashion Institute of Technology exhibit<\/a> called “Power Mode: The Force of Fashion<\/a>.” Pound wrote:<\/p>\n “For centuries, clothing has been armour for those who feel alienated from the mainstream, whether because of their views, gender, class, race or sexuality.
