It&#8217;s Dirty Dozen time! I mean, literally, here&#8217;s a video from <a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/D12-dirty-dozen-lyrics\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">D12<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3piTDgZgiTQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>That video starts with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbandictionary.com\/define.php?term=OG\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OG<\/a> rapper Ice-T (the husband of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2007\/10\/obsessions-some-old-some-new\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">my OG obsession, Coco<\/a>). His lines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bTUrWYv2vtU\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">include direct quotes<\/a> from <em>The Warriors<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/1023205_warriors\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an OG movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s appropriate because I&#8217;m an OG blogger from the big burst of fashion blogs that popped up in 2006 and 2007. Some bloggers from that era went big-time and became a proper business, like <a href=\"http:\/\/stylebubble.co.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Style Bubble<\/a>. Other bloggers moved to Instagram, letting their blogs go dormant or even giving up their URLs entirely &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2009\/08\/the-guilt-is-killing-me\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I was clicking on the links in this August 2009 post to see who is still around<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>I do miss the tight-knit circle we had, with everyone commenting on each others&#8217; posts and curating a &#8220;blog roll&#8221; of links to blogger friends.  That&#8217;s why it makes me happy that I have special connections to a few of my sister OGs. I&#8217;m not sure I knew before today that Michelle Haswell of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingdomofstyle.net\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kingdom of Style<\/a> shares my blogversary date. Yikes! We are officially one of the longest running blogs IN THE WORLD! Lots of bloggers claim to be one of the original blogs, but in our case it\u2019s actually true! Since 13 is our big number I have shared some outfits from 2013. Lots of colour and print that year. By 2013 I\u2019d had endured 6 of the worst years in my life. From grief, heartbreak, redundancy &#8211; it was just one thing piled on top on another and there were moments I truly didn\u2019t think I\u2019d survive, and times I didn\u2019t want to survive, but survive I did. And 2013 was a pretty good year for the blog. We worked with some great brands, the biggest being Louis Vuitton and in 2013 I turned 40. Heres to another 13. Changing the logo is always a big thing because &#8230; LOOK, WE HAVE CHANGED SOMETHING! WE ARE MODERN NOW! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-11-20\/why-fashion-brands-all-use-the-same-style-font-in-their-logos\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">You can see in this Bloomberg article<\/a> how a bunch of high-end fashion houses changed their heritage logos to something newer, yet more generic. I saw that story, looked at the examples, and thought &#8220;Fuck that. Damn, girl!
