The past week was all about the midterm elections. I was so busy with election-related activities that I only had time to write two blog posts:<\/p>\n
I find that the a lot of the media tends to underestimate the success of Democrats and other progressives, so if you’re on the left and want a good summary of our wins and actions, check out this article from grass-roots activist group Indivisible.<\/p>\n
THE BLUE WAVE IS REAL!<\/a><\/p>\n Indivisible started as the Indivisible Guide<\/a>, a Google doc written by former congressional aides for progressives who wanted to become successful activists.\u00a0 A movement grew around that document, with local chapters launched all across the country. There are now 6,000 groups — mine being Indivisible Upper East Side<\/a>. You can find your local group here<\/a>. Last week’s election is far from the end of our activism. Indivisible’s national team is set to unveil the Indivisible Guide 2.0 this week to cover next steps, so it’s a good time to join.<\/p>\n That said, I’m focusing on jewelry this week. You know, my real interest. Yay! November 12 – 18<\/a> is the first NYC Jewelry Week — with 90 events scheduled, including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, tours, and at least one great jewelry sale. I did a video about the New York events I’m participating in a couple of weeks ago; it also includes information on an appearance I’m making in Columbus, Ohio.<\/p>\n
