Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GVeyNlDltbY\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>You can tell my videos aren&#8217;t overly scripted because I started out saying that most of my Moschino is pre-2005, and then I realized, &#8220;Um, not really.&#8221; In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/wanderlust-2014-scenic-santa-monica-california\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the safety-pin t-shirt is from 2013<\/a>, which is practically yesterday when it comes to my closet. So, to be nitpicky, I should reclassify that top as slow fashion rather than homegrown vintage. I define homegrown vintage as something I bought 10 or more years ago. Any clothes\/shoes\/accessories that I&#8217;ve had at least three years but fewer than 10 are merely slow fashion, meaning they&#8217;re well past the original season and I&#8217;m planning on having a long-term relationship with them, but they haven&#8217;t graduated to vintage yet. Because homegrown vintage always qualifies as slow fashion &#8212; I mean, it ain&#8217;t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2007\/10\/why-does-buyers-guilt-focus-on-fashion\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">H&#038;M-style fast fashion<\/a> if it&#8217;s 10 years old &#8212; I tend to use both terms in blog posts and videos, but a five-year-old t-shirt really isn&#8217;t vintage. A t-shirt that&#8217;s more than 30 years old? That&#8217;s vintage!<\/p>\n<p><center><div id=\"attachment_39421\" style=\"width: 488px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2016\/04\/coachella-2016-what-wendy-and-other-people-wore\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39421\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/canaljeans.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"478\" height=\"590\" class=\"size-full wp-image-39421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/canaljeans.jpg 478w, https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/canaljeans-243x300.jpg 243w, https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/canaljeans-300x370.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-39421\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thanks to my sister for giving me her homegrown-vintage 1980s Canal Jeans t-shirt. I love it!<\/p><\/div><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in the world of vintage-clothing buyers and sellers, &#8220;vintage&#8221; is technically supposed to refer to clothes that are 20 or more years old, as I explained in this earlier video.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BrAm9R6vEy8\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s how I end up with clothes I call &#8220;double-vintage&#8221;: They were more than 20 years old when I got them, and I&#8217;ve owned them for more than 10 years. Click for original post and to see the dress in 1994 and 1995.<\/p><\/div><\/center><\/p>\n<p>As you try to get your head around all those ways of describing what previous generations would have called &#8220;used clothes,&#8221; I&#8217;ll try to figure out how I forgot to include so many vintage (nearly double-vintage!) Moschino items in my video. Seriously, I love this dress. And now I have a bad case of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/what-wendy-wore-the-pain-of-non-buyers-remorse\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">non-buyer&#8217;s remorse<\/a> because why didn&#8217;t I get this Moschino sweater I saw on eBay in 2011? It was $86.40!
