I know it doesn&#8217;t sound like my usual royal reading, but the author is kind of a queen. Robert and his eccentric, wig-wearing, man-chasing mother live in dull Petunia, Texas (&#8220;Where God Stuck the Enema,&#8221; as Mother calls it), but drive to Neiman Marcus every Saturday to get their hair and nails done.<\/p>\n<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Memoirs-Beautiful-Boy-Robert-Leleux\/dp\/0312361688\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_gTmdbGeiE-E\/R6km975n8uI\/AAAAAAAAB7Q\/gZBH5cPCzRI\/s320\/memoirsbeautiful.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163701293250245346\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>When Robert finally realizes that he&#8217;s gay, Mother isn&#8217;t impressed by his announcement. &#8220;How could you be my child and <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">not<\/span> be gay?&#8221; she says. &#8220;Women like me <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">always<\/span> have gay children. Cher, Lana Turner, Queen Elizabeth.
