I write the action list weekly — this is week #23 — and while my content is aimed at people in my congressional district, I often include rallies, meetings, volunteer opportunities, and other information pertinent to all New Yorkers. For instance, this week’s list<\/a> has post-Charlottesville rallies at Trump Tower and<\/em> a reminder that August 18 is the last day you can register as a Democrat in New York<\/a> in time to vote in the Democratic primary on September 12. (Check your voter registration status here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

If you don’t live in New York State, there are often scripts (or links to them) to use when calling our members of Congress that you can adapt for your own senators and representatives. There are also downloadable letters<\/a> that my chapter sends to our members of Congress that can be similarly re-worked as needed for your state.<\/p>\n

If you haven’t been politically active at all and are wondering how to get started, look up your local Indivisible chapter. The Indivisible Guide<\/a> was originally a document put together by former congressional aides to help people become politically active at the grass-roots level in order to resist the Trump regime.
