Click for the InStore &#8220;Garden Party&#8221; feature.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Frog and Prince ring was the first design in my <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/category\/jewelry\/maneater\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maneater series<\/a> and I feel like I&#8217;ve neglected it a little.\u00a0 It&#8217;s true that it&#8217;s not set with an astonishing 429 diamonds like the <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2014\/04\/jewel-of-the-month-bull-and-bullfighter-maneater-ring\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bull and Bullfighter Maneater ring<\/a>, nor does it have a treasure chest that opens like the <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2015\/11\/jewel-of-the-month-dragon-and-knight-maneater-ring\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dragon and Knight Maneater ring does<\/a>. But it&#8217;s still ornate and one of a kind. This ring started with four separate, hand-carved wax models that were later cast in four different colors of 18K gold. Instead, it&#8217;s yellow gold with a greenish tint, which &#8212; in this case &#8212; subtly emphasizes the color of the eight custom-cut <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tsavorite\" target=\"_blank\" data-slimstat=\"1\">tsavorite<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cabochon\" target=\"_blank\" data-slimstat=\"1\">cabochons<\/a> set on the frog&#8217;s back. (The other gems in the ring are upside-down pink sapphires, as well as brown and white diamonds.) I&#8217;m not sure people would notice the difference between the green gold and rose gold if I didn&#8217;t tell them, but, to me, that&#8217;s part of what makes it art &#8212; attention to detail beyond what the naked eye can take in.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_36095\" style=\"width: 508px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/jewel-of-the-month-frog-and-prince-maneater-ring\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36095\" class=\"wp-image-36095 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/frog4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"664\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/frog4.jpg 498w, https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/frog4-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/frog4-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-36095\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Totally one-of-a-kind &#8212; whoever buys it will never see another like it on someone else.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;m still working on my eighth and final Maneater design &#8212; a necklace, instead of a ring.\u00a0 It&#8217;s likely to be finished next year. Part of me would like to see the entire eight-piece Maneater line go to a single collector who appreciates the cohesiveness of the concept. On the other hand (no pun intended), I could imagine the frog ring living happily ever after with someone who has an affinity for this particular design.
