If you missed the Guardian’s article on the plans that are in place for the eventual death of Queen Elizabeth II, do yourself a favor and read it now. It is long, but full of interesting history, as well as the tiniest details of what after “… civil servants … say ‘London Bridge is down’ on secure lines.” For instance, the funeral will take place nine days after the queen’s death: “At 9 a.m., Big Ben will strike. The bell\u2019s hammer will then be covered with a leather pad seven-sixteenths of an inch thick, and it will ring out in muffled tones.”<\/p>\n
The Guardian noted that one thing that has not been written into the official plans, but might as well be, is “People who are not expecting to cry will cry.” I have no doubt of that.<\/p>\n
