Not only did we learn that poor Hodor had been unable to voice anything but his slurred version of &#8220;Hold the door!&#8221; for most of his life, but then I insisted on talking <em>at<\/em> her for an hour about whether or not <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vox.com\/2016\/5\/22\/11722146\/game-of-thrones-season-6-recap-hodor-dies-bran-time-travel\" target=\"_blank\">Bran Stark&#8217;s time-travel abilities make him the accidental supervillain of the show<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>As an Apple ad warned us recently, time travel is dangerous &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YRRBs71p7II\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; especially if you get caught in a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Causal_loop\" target=\"_blank\">causal loop<\/a>. It&#8217;s like<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/watch\/237564\" target=\"_blank\"> that episode<\/a> of <em>Family Guy<\/em> where baby Stewie&#8217;s time machine accidentally sends him (and Brian the dog) out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spacetime\" target=\"_blank\">space-time continuum<\/a>. While trying to get back into the continuum, Stewie creates the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Big_Bang\" target=\"_blank\">Big Bang<\/a>, which in turn creates the universe &#8230; which ultimately leads to the creation of Stewie Griffin &#8230; who then causes the Big Bang &#8230; which creates the universe &#8230; Ugh! It&#8217;s best to stay away from time travel entirely. At least Stewie creates a whole universe! Bran Stark&#8217;s irresponsible time traveling made poor Wylis the stable boy lose his mind and wind up repeating &#8220;Hodor&#8221; for decades until he finally gets to the moment in his life in which he has to &#8220;hold the door&#8221; &#8230; to save Bran from the zombie attack precipitated by Bran. Thanks for both everything and nothing, Bran!<\/p>\n<p>There are so many good recaps of this episode online but Slate&#8217;s is my favorite.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/browbeat\/2016\/05\/23\/hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor_hodor.html\" target=\"_blank\">CLICK HERE TO READ SLATE&#8217;S RECAP<\/a>.<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of time travel, I felt like I had stepped back into the 1980s when I saw Rihanna on Billboard&#8217;s pink carpet. Further proof that she can wear absolutely anything.
