I was checking up on him because of a blind gossip item that seemed to be about him, claiming he was at death&#8217;s door. I thought, &#8220;This garbage is always wrong. Let me prove it&#8217;s wrong.&#8221; I was happy to take the fact that he was up and about as a good sign, but perhaps I should have taken this statement that he made at face value: &#8220;Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It was hard enough that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/vanity-dead-prince-discovery-dies-865763\" target=\"_blank\">Prince&#8217;s protege Vanity died in February;<\/a> like Prince, she was only 57 years old.\u00a0 I felt like I lost an important part of my past with her! Now, for Prince himself to die &#8230; well, it consoles me a little to imagine Vanity quickly painting the pearly gates purple, so that Prince can dance through in style.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=d0lLDyknUjw\" target=\"_blank\">Let&#8217;s Go Crazy<\/a>&#8221; from the movie <em>Purple Rain<\/em> has always been one of my favorite Prince songs. (My all-time favorite is the B-side of &#8220;Let&#8217;s Go Crazy&#8221;: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Erotic_City\" target=\"_blank\">Erotic City<\/a>.&#8221;) I vividly remember listening to it during a dance in my high school gym.
