These gatherings always involve drinking too much and occasionally involve being thrown out of a restaurant. Thankfully, we drink so much that we don’t remember any embarrassing details. Last night’s drinking took place at Minetta Tavern<\/a> with knitwear maven Stacy Lomman<\/a> and accessories guru Rachel Mabel. Believe it or not, neither of them had blogs as of last night but by this morning I had coerced Stacy into snagging a very funny and fashionable domain name. I’ll announce that as soon as she’s ready. I’m still working on Rachel. Give me time.<\/p>\n I told the wimmins to dress to impress y’all and they came through, of course. Rachel wore Diane Von Furstenberg. I was hypmotized<\/a> by the colors and print.<\/p>\n \n From left: WendyB, RachelM and StacyL. Seriously, the vest is her own design (she does wovens as well as knits) and I’m ordering one. I hope it comes with one of those tags that grandmothers use in their sweaters.<\/p>\n If you would like to order a custom-made vest from Stacy, holla at her at tafettadarlings at gmail dot com.<\/p>\n I wore a vintage Patrick Kelly<\/a> dress that is covered with hundreds of tiny bows<\/a>. I also wore my vintage Jacques Tiffeau monkey-fur coat<\/a> for the first time. We forgot to take a picture of the coat, but I did remember to take photos of the ladies modeling my jewelry, as I like to do<\/a>. Poor Rachel arrived completely devoid of jewelry after I scared her into thinking I’d be jealous of anything she might wear. I swear, that only happened once<\/a>! She modeled the 18K gold and lapis lazuli Nefertiti poison ring<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n I want to pet Rachel's hair. She should be a Breck Girl.<\/p><\/div>\n Stacy got to wear the world-famous Wendy Brandes for Francis swear rings<\/a>.<\/p>\n I want to steal Stacy's Billy Idol-worthy bracelet.<\/p><\/div>\n Rachel entertained us with a tale of how Kanye West confiscated her table at another restaurant the previous night. What the hell, Kanye? First Taylor Swift’s mic<\/a>, then Rachel’s table! KANYE’S THIEVING WAYS MUST BE STOPPED! But not before I say, “I’mma let you finish.<\/a>..” a few hundred more times, because that never gets old for me.<\/p>\n Later, after we were ejected from<\/span> left Minetta Tavern, Rachel’s handsome boyfriend rescued her<\/span> spirited her away. Stacy and I went for Bellinis<\/a> before calling it a night. I thought I got home quite late and spent the morning bewildered by the fact that I had apparently sent gorgeous blogger Sister Wolf<\/a> a drunken email at 10:48 PM. Then I looked again and realized that it was 10:48 PM her time and 1:48 AM my time. That makes more sense. There was no way that second restaurant could have been closing down before midnight. It’s kind of shameful that it was closing down before 2 AM on a weeknight, now that I think of it. Isn’t New York supposed to be the city that never sleeps? Everything should be open till 4 a.m. Especially Bergdorf Goodman<\/a>. I’d love to do a little shoe shopping in the wee hours.
