I visited a friend who works at Bergdorf Goodman<\/a> (one of my favorite stores!) and had some time to kill while she finished up a dress fitting.<\/p>\n

Libertine<\/a> designer Johnson Hartig had been in the store last week for a trunk show and the clothes were still there.\u00a0 I’ve always been interested in the line, which updates vintage clothes with crystals, studs, and silk-screened skulls and words. A lot of the pieces are one of a kind. This is the first time I ever tried anything on. If I recall correctly, this pink jacket with bracelet sleeves<\/a> was by Lilli Ann<\/a>, with embellishments added by Hartig. As you can see, I felt really good on it!<\/p>\n

It certainly jazzed up that black J. Crew sweater I was wearing.<\/p>\n

I also liked this Dolce & Gabbana dress with a single rose on it, though I was too lazy to try it on.<\/p>\n

The dress made me think of a line delivered by Madeline Kahn<\/a> as the Marlene Dietrich-like Lili Von Shtupp in the Mel Brooks movie Blazing Saddles<\/em><\/a>: “A wed wose! How womantic.”<\/p>\n

That quote probably leapt to mind because earlier in the day, I felt so tired that I told someone that I was “tired like Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles<\/em>.”<\/p>\n
