Companies like H&#038;M popularized disposable fashion in the first place and now they&#8217;re trying to look noble by offering a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessoffashion.com\/articles\/opinion\/op-ed-the-trouble-with-second-hand-clothes\" target=\"_blank\">quasi-solution<\/a> to the problem they created? (Last year, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/business\/archive\/2014\/07\/where-does-discarded-clothing-go\/374613\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Atlantic reported<\/a> that Americans now buy five times as much clothing as they did in 1980. <a href=\"http:\/\/about.hm.com\/en\/About\/facts-about-hm\/people-and-history\/history.html\" target=\"_blank\">H&#038;M opened<\/a> its first U.S. story in 2000.)<\/p>\n<p>On the plus side, the ad features a <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/wear-what-you-want-icon-iggy-pop\/\" target=\"_blank\">topless Iggy Pop<\/a>, and topless Iggy Pop is always welcome in my life. <\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m not a big fan of fast fashion, but I do like this H&#038;M ad.
