For instance, soccer&#8217;s governing body, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-32897066\" target=\"_blank\">delightfully corrupt FIFA<\/a>, pays the winning women&#8217;s team <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2015\/07\/07\/womens-soccer-pay-gap_n_7745892.html\" target=\"_blank\">a $2 million prize, compared with the $8 million it pays men&#8217;s teams that lose in the first round<\/a>. Is it that hard to say across the board, &#8220;We will suspend or fire your ass if you do drugs, beat your significant other, assault your relatives or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/story\/0ap3000000500692\/article\/giants-de-pierrepaul-has-right-finger-amputated\" target=\"_blank\">blow yourself up<\/a> with <a href=\"http:\/\/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com\/2015\/07\/08\/report-c-j-wilson-lost-two-fingers-in-fireworks-accident\/\" target=\"_blank\">fireworks<\/a>?&#8221; Yeah, that last one might not be against the law but it&#8217;s criminally idiotic.)<\/p>\n<p>While the U.S. women are being screwed financially, they&#8217;re still winners &#8230; and, as a bonus, haven&#8217;t been subject to the likes of the official &#8220;supportive&#8221; tweet that England&#8217;s women got from the English Football Association.<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/shitheads.jpg\" alt=\"shitheads\" width=\"498\" height=\"304\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29711\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/shitheads.jpg 498w, https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/shitheads-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>After everyone&#8217;s heads exploded over this sexist shit, <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2015\/07\/06\/england-football-association-sexist-tweet\/\" target=\"_blank\">the association deleted it<\/a>. Later, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/blogs-trending-33411415\" target=\"_blank\">according to the BBC<\/a>, the FA tried to defend itself by &#8220;saying the tweet linked to an online article on the FA&#8217;s website about the players being reunited with their families. The line about &#8216;mothers, partners and daughters&#8217; originally appeared in that story as well, but was later edited out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The BBC quoted an FA spokesman as saying:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The full story was a wider homecoming feature attempting to reflect the many personal stories within the playing squad as has been told throughout the course of the tournament &#8230; However, we understand that an element of the story appears to have been taken out of context and the opening paragraph was subsequently revised to reflect that fact.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As you can see for yourself, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefa.com\/news\/england\/womens\/2015\/jul\/england-women-world-cup-return\" target=\"_blank\">that story by James Callow, as it reads now<\/a>, makes no mention of the players coming home to assume traditional lady roles. The only quote referencing family is from defender Laura Bassett:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Everybody is looking forward to going back home and just reflecting on what we have done \u2013 speaking about it with friends and family and enjoying some home comforts.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bassett went on to say how excited she was to be an inspiration.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The fact that people are going out and getting our names on the back of their shirts and wanting to score goals like [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&#038;rct=j&#038;q=&#038;esrc=s&#038;source=web&#038;cd=1&#038;cad=rja&#038;uact=8&#038;ved=0CB8QFjAAahUKEwjv1IuznM3GAhUBOD4KHRNGAFE&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FLucy_Bronze&#038;ei=5fmdVa_OMYHw-AGTjIGIBQ&#038;usg=AFQjCNE2_HKQEY1kPv10tS1fFFSwiXDIIg&#038;sig2=da9RtUyegbiJedIt9Yg7TA&#038;bvm=bv.96952980,d.cWw\" target=\"_blank\">right-back<\/a>] Lucy Bronze is just brilliant.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And her teammate Bronze said, &#8220;&#8221;If in 10 years\u2019 time I can say that I made a difference and that some little girl has become the best player in the world then that\u2019s fine by me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From this, someone said, &#8220;Aha!
