My Jewel of the Month<\/a> posts highlight my newest jewelry designs. Here are 2014\u2019s hot jewels from both my luxe signature line and my social-media-inspired WENDYB by Wendy Brandes diffusion line<\/a>. Click the photos to read the original posts.<\/p>\n

Single earrings<\/a> were hot this year<\/a> and they’re not going to let up in 2015<\/a>.\u00a0 I started offering my 4 1\/2″-long Cleopatra earrings in both gold<\/a> and silver<\/a> as singles in January.<\/p>\n

This makes a statement!<\/p><\/div>\n

One of my specialties is redesigning old jewelry. I made these amethyst birthstone earrings for gorgeous client Susan and featured them in February.<\/p>\n

These had already been redesigned once before by someone else.<\/p><\/div>\n

In addition to creating one-of-a-kind designs for individual clients, I’ll add special requests to my regular line, especially when it comes to emojis. March’s Jewel of the Month was a sterling-silver meat cleaver stud<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Look away, vegetarians!<\/p><\/div>\n

The fourth of my eight-ring Maneater collection was the Bull and Bullfighter ring<\/a>, formally introduced in April, right in time for Taurus<\/a> birthdays. Gorgeous singer Skylar Grey had a personal preview of the ring the month before when she wore it to Elton John’s Oscar party.<\/p>\n

Skylar looked gorgeous that night!<\/p><\/div>\n

In March,\u00a0 Sheryl Sandberg<\/a>, Facebook chief operating officer and author of Leaning In<\/em>, joined with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Girl Scouts USA chief executive Anna Maria Ch\u00e1vez<\/a> to announce Ban Bossy<\/a>, a campaign aimed at empowering girls.\u00a0 By May, I had both BOSS<\/a> and BOSSY<\/a> necklaces.<\/p>\n

Be a boss like Rick Ross.<\/p><\/div>\n

I wear June’s Jewels of the Month — my barbed-wire stacking rings<\/a> — every day! I expect matching barbed-wire earrings<\/a> to be on my site next month.<\/p>\n

My now-discontinued Chicken on Nest<\/a> necklace in silver was featured in July. If you’ve got an unlimited budget, the original 18K gold chicken-in-egg locket<\/a> is still available.<\/p>\n

Sorry! These are all gone.<\/p><\/div>\n

People use “literally<\/a>” as a synonym for “very” these days. Ugh! In August, this necklace was my way of saying, “I literally can’t even<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Literally is literally a necklace now.<\/p><\/div>\n

September’s Jewel was the “PUSHY” necklace<\/a> I made for former New York Times editor Jill Abramson.<\/p>\n

My October design was a hockey mask and chainsaw earring set<\/a>. Shopping app Spring turned the pair into an animated gif for Halloween.<\/a><\/p>\n

Scary … but cute!<\/p><\/div>\n

I was thrilled when my Pink Elephant and Tipsy Writer Maneater ring <\/a>won an honorable mention in the AGTA Spectrum awards<\/a> at the end of October — meaning November’s Jewel of the Month was announced a few days early!<\/p>\n

The Spectrum awards recognize work with colored gems.<\/p><\/div>\n

I ended the year with a diamond tribute to New York City — my yellow, white and black diamond NYC Taxi and Passenger Maneater ring<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The NYC skyline is engraved on one side, the Brooklyn Bridge is on the other. And “I Heart NY” is engraved on the bumper!<\/p><\/div>\n
