I got a little emotional seeing this ring in print in light of Henry the dog’s passing last week<\/a>. This ring was one of my earliest pieces of mechanical jewelry. Inspired by mourning jewelry<\/a>, the ring opens up to reveal a place for an engraving. I created the first one in 2006 in memory of my old Pekingese, Mr. Chubbs<\/a>. The photos on my website still show that original sample, with Chubbs’s name inside.<\/p>\n

I didn’t have that sample ring for very long.\u00a0 Either in 2006 or early the next year, Lindsay Lohan bought it from a Los Angeles jewelry store called Kaviar & Kind (click here<\/a> and scroll down to read the whole story). I’ve made buckle rings since then, but I’ve never made a new one for myself. I guess I should come up with a brand-new jewelry design to cover both Chubbs and Henry.<\/p>\n
