That inspired me to do another collage for Throwback Thursday with an even older dress. This leopard-print Diane von Furstenberg has been on the blog a lot. The first photos I have of it are from June 2002<\/a>. I apparently put it away for a number of years, but it’s been in frequent rotation since at least 2010. Again, click to enlarge.<\/p>\n

In the collage, clockwise from left: On the way to see my Cleopatra earrings make an appearance in Sex and the City 2<\/a>; with my gorgeous, animal-print-loving sister Terri Berry<\/a> at her wedding rehearsal dinner; this month, at the JCK jewelry show in Las Vegas<\/a>, with beautiful jewelry wimmins Erika Winters and Shamila Jiwa.<\/p>\n

Speaking of JCK and Vegas, the stunning and stunningly tall Barbara Palumbo wrote a highlarious account of our last night there<\/a>, which included the Rob Thomas concert that took place in a pool. She noted my obsession with the pool performance:<\/p>\n

“Wendy, in my opinion, is the sole reason that JCK Events will ALWAYS hold a concert in a pool. I never saw someone so excited to see such a mediocre<\/span> well-known musician while standing in chlorine.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s true and I’m not at all ashamed.<\/p>\n

Even if you know nothing about JCK or jewelry, read Barbara’s post for her awesome new lyrics to Santana’s hit, “Smooth,” and her description of her conversation with hapless club-promoter Mike. She is not exaggerating her dialogue with him for effect. Honest to God, she said exactly those words at the top of her lungs, becoming one of my idols in the process.
