Because I&#8217;m lazy, I&#8217;m just going to quote from <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/new-york-fashion-week-frocks\/\" target=\"_blank\">an earlier post<\/a>: &#8220;The red necklace I appear to be wearing in the photo is actually dozens of strands of Mardi Gras beads. People were supposed to give out beads if they liked your outfit (taking one&#8217;s top off was not required, though not expressly forbidden either).
