Why write a new Christmas Day post when I wrote the perfect one in 2008? Here is “Happy Holiday, Goyim!<\/a>” again, with a new, working version of the video and a couple of other updated links:<\/p>\n

Every December 25, I get into the holiday spirit by reminiscing about an idiot I knew in my freshman year of college. This self-described born-again Christian once went into a rant about the secularization of Christmas as symbolized by the use of \u201cXmas.\u201d She thought that evil secular people had X\u2019d the \u201cChrist\u201d out of Christmas. She didn\u2019t know that the Greek letter \u201cX\u201d \u2014 the first letter in the Greek spelling of \u201cChrist\u201d \u2014 has been used as shorthand for \u201cChrist\u201d for centuries<\/a>. No one X\u2019d the Christ out of Christmas; X IS Christ, for Jebus\u2019s sake! (If you want more info about the X factor, here\u2019s an Xian\u2019s explanation <\/a>for fellow Xians.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Anyway, here some things I wish I could say to my long-ago acquaintance in honor of the holiday.<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. It\u2019s bad to be stupid.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. It\u2019s worse to be stupid about your own religion\u2019s history while trying to convert an easily irritated atheist of Jewish origin.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. If your God disapproved of gays, He wouldn\u2019t have allowed that hairstylist to give you the most unflattering hairdo since Medusa\u2019s. That haircutting queen was actually the hand of God punishing you for your homophobia!<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Merry Titmas!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
