{"id":22625,"date":"2013-10-02T15:21:11","date_gmt":"2013-10-02T19:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/?p=22625"},"modified":"2013-10-02T15:21:11","modified_gmt":"2013-10-02T19:21:11","slug":"what-wendy-wore-visiting-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/what-wendy-wore-visiting-chicago\/","title":{"rendered":"What Wendy Wore: Visiting Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, I went to Chicago to see my designing friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stacylomman.com\" target=\"_blank\">Stacy Lomman<\/a>&#8216;s collection presented on the runway for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gcfas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gold Coast Fashion Award Show<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/what-we-wore-gold-coast-fashion-award-show\/\" target=\"_blank\">second year in a row<\/a>. More than 1,000 people attend the event, which is a <a href=\"http:\/\/charlottesjourneyhome.com\/2013\/08\/20\/58th-annual-gold-coast-fashion-award-show-for-lurie-childrens-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\">fundraiser for the Children\u2019s Service Board<\/a>, an affiliated organization of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luriechildrens.org\/en-us\/Pages\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Anne &amp; Robert H. Lurie Children\u2019s Hospital<\/a>. A very worthy cause!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how Stacy&#8217;s collection looked on the giant video screen at the Hilton Chicago and Towers.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/q6bFybWNqEs\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Naturally, Stacy and I both wore Stacy Lomman originals. I wore the <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/im-a-fashion-group-international-rising-star-award-winner\/\" target=\"_blank\">red peplum dress that Stacy made me for the Fashion Group International Awards in 2012<\/a>. My sister, <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/introducing-my-new-niece-sabrina-berry\/\" target=\"_blank\">Terri Berry<\/a>, lives in a Chicago suburb and both my niece and nephew have their birthdays around this time.<\/p>\n<p>This time, my sister squeezed in a surprise birthday party for her husband Tim in between the kiddie celebrations.
