Designer Stephen Sprouse did camouflage-print designs based on screenprints by Andy Warhol in 1987 and 1988. Sprouse was famous for his use of Day-Glo colors, so if I were going to get a vintage Sprouse camo print, I’d probably go for something like this skirt.<\/p>\n

Recently, fashion historian Valerie Steele mentioned to me that camo<\/a> has been in and out of style since the 1960s, so it’s entertaining but not unexpected to see a similar colorway<\/a> crop up again. I was much more surprised to discover these circa-1940 shoes. (They’re in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Collection<\/a> but came to my attention via the blog OMG That Dress!<\/a>)<\/p>\n
