Yep, that’s a burlap-colored trench coat with a giant pleather crocodile — complete with eyes and nostrils — on the front of it. The horizontal straps are actually the croc’s legs, complete with claws that can be seen on the back of the coat.<\/p>\n I also got those boots in Paris. I’ve been staring at Parisian feet for years<\/a>, and seeing a lot of ballet flats (no support at all), Converse sneakers<\/a> (gave me a monster blister once), Isabel Marant wedge sneakers (I prefer Ash Shoes wedges<\/a>) and short, flat boots. The short, flat boots finally got to me. I never wear flats, but here I am, living proof of my blog motto “Never Is the Next New Thing<\/a>\u2122.”<\/p>\n I noticed a new addition to Paris feet this year: leather thong sandals. They were very skimpy, with hardly any upper to them at all, like with this example from Tory Burch.<\/p>\n $195. Click to purchase at Bergdorf Goodman.<\/p><\/div>\n They didn’t look very comfortable to me — almost like walking barefoot — but if you’re going to go for a barely-there shoe style, I definitely prefer leather to a shower-worthy rubber flip flop. What was really notable about these shoes was that the temperature in Paris was in the high 50s to low 60s (Fahrenheit, obvs<\/a>) and it rained a lot. It wasn’t sandal weather at all, so anyone wearing these really wanted to make a statement. Maybe that statement was just, “I wish l’\u00e9t\u00e9<\/em> were here,” rather than anything to do with fashion, but, regardless, it was a very popular look. I don’t know, man. When it’s that chilly, I’d say a trench coat with a giant pleather crocodile on it makes more sense than sandals. And when a coat with a giant pleather crocodile on it makes any sense at all, you know the situation is serious! What can I say though?
