I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again<\/a>: I am extremely thankful for all the support JCK has given me.\u00a0 It’s wonderful to deal with people who love jewelry. New ideas, old-fashioned workmanship … the JCK editors appreciate it all.<\/p>\n

Speaking of new ideas, JCK’s Stephanie Schaefer<\/a> interviewed me about the crowdfunding site Kickstarter; that story is also in the May issue. Here’s the first page of the piece.<\/p>\n

What didn’t come up in the interview was that before I did Kickstarter myself in August 2010, I persuaded gorgeous designer\/friend Stacy Lomman<\/a> to test the waters by using the site to finance her clothing collection and fashion show. She was so successful that, within weeks, I launched my own campaign<\/a> to raise money for new ring designs. Before I took the plunge, I wrote a story on crowdfunding for Independent Fashion Bloggers, using Stacy as an example. Check out that piece<\/a> for my tips on how to have a successful fundraising campaign.<\/p>\n
