I need to start a Customer Hall of Fame because it seems like a bit of an understatement to describe gorgeous blogger Susan of Une femme d’un certain age<\/a> as a “customer of the day.” Susan has been a customer of mine since 2008, when she bid on the Diana heart necklace I was auctioning off for a fundraiser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As part of the Susan’s auction package, I designed and named a MAJOR pair of earrings after her.<\/p>\n

These 18K-gold chandelier earrings are Oscar red-carpet-worthy: They’re set with\u00a01.41 carats of diamonds and\u00a016.39 carats of exceptionally beautiful peridot. I went all out to do a spectacular piece because Susan is a spectacular person! I’ve had the pleasure of dining with her several times and she’s funny, smart and stylish.\u00a0 It was during one of those dinners, in 2009<\/a>, that Susan handed me her engagement ring and asked me to redesign it in the style of my Siobhan perma-stacked stacking ring.<\/p>\n

Susan really got in touch with her inner rebel last year when she got one of my personal favorites: my 18K-gold IDGAF necklace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oh my! Some of Susan’s loyal readers were very upset by this necklace! They clutched their pearls<\/a> so hard that they probably pulverized the poor things. Actually, that should be part of my master plan to sell more jewelry: shock people into squishing their pearls so that I can sell them this white-agate choker<\/a> as a replacement.<\/p>\n

Lately, Susan moved into even darker territory by acquiring my Medici poison ring<\/a> — a locket ring that opens to reveal a secret compartment.<\/p>\n

I asked Susan to tell y’all why the Medici ring appealed to her and she explained in an email:<\/p>\n

“A couple of years ago, when Wendy was visiting L.A., she was wearing her amazing gold and diamond Borgia Poison Ring<\/a>. I loved the look of it, and especially the substantial feel and how luxe it felt to wear, and began considering a purchase. But then I saw the Medici Poison Ring<\/a> online, and knew that was the one for me. I’m always drawn to jewelry with square or angular elements, and I love the brushed gold finish of this ring. No, I have no nefarious intentions for my poison ring! It’s just a gorgeous, unique piece that delights me every time I wear it.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hmmm. She says she’s wearing the ring innocently but I’m not so sure we should trust her. Any woman who wears an IDGAF necklace could be dangerous! Watch your wine glass when you go out for drinks with Susan, just in case.<\/p>\n

It’s funny that none of these photos show Susan’s face, isn’t it? It brings me back to 2006, when all the fashion bloggers cropped out their faces or covered them with a camera in outfit shots. Susan isn’t doing a throwback thing; she just had a lot of good jewelry closeups featuring her neck and fingers. Here’s the rest of her.<\/p>\n
