{"id":19521,"date":"2013-03-04T00:01:24","date_gmt":"2013-03-04T05:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/?p=19521"},"modified":"2013-03-03T21:39:32","modified_gmt":"2013-03-04T02:39:32","slug":"another-interesting-sighting-in-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2013\/03\/another-interesting-sighting-in-los-angeles\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Interesting Sighting in Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I almost forgot to report that <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2013\/02\/reporting-from-cloud-nine\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Waterston<\/a> wasn&#8217;t the only interesting person I spotted in my hotel in Los Angeles last week.\u00a0 The first night we were there, MrB and I went to get a drink at the bar. I was excited to see a large white dog snoozing on the floor by a couch. (I&#8217;m always enthused to see pets in unexpected places.) Then I looked to the couch, where the dog&#8217;s companion was sitting with his back to us. I practically lost my mind, babbling to MrB, &#8220;It&#8217;s the guy! That guy! The Liza Minnelli guy!&#8221; MrB had no idea what I was talking about, but I eventually explained that <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/what-wendy-wore-black-halo-five-peat\/\" target=\"_blank\">this was the man we saw at restaurant last year who compared me to Liza Minnelli in an unusual but flattering way<\/a>. That had been such a strange little conversation with such a distinctive-looking person &#8212; what with his black leather hat and giant dog &#8212; that it seemed like a dream or a visit from another dimension. But here he was again, apparently real! Inquiring minds want to know.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Liza, I see she just performed in London to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/music\/2013\/mar\/01\/liza-minnelli-review\" target=\"_blank\">rave reviews<\/a>. I wish I could have been there!
