I was super-excited to go to the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Los Angeles last night. This event is a major thrill for me … but that doesn’t always mean I get a new dress for the occasion. I actually enjoy wearing the same dress to events that are just a few months apart, especially if I can do an East Coast\/West Coast thing. For instance, I wore my leopard-print vintage Patrick Kelly dress to the Committee to Protect Journalists dinner in New York in November 2010 …<\/p>\n

… and I wore it again in February 2011 to the Vanity Fair party in L.A.<\/p>\n

In February 2009, I wore a backless Zang Toi gown with what I poetically termed “ass flowers” to the Vanity Fair party.<\/p>\n

Then I wore it to a dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in May 2009.<\/p>\n

I’ve always been a bit confused<\/a> about the years in which I wore my Sex-ay Pilgrim Dress by Donald Brooks to two East Coast\/West Coast events in quick succession. But now I think that I wore it to the Committee to Protect Journalists dinner in November 2004 (below left), and wore it again to a Golden Globes party in L.A. in January 2005 (below right).<\/p>\n

The latest example is the hot-pink Zang Toi gown I wore with a blue, ruffled Junya Watanabe cropped motorcycle jacket to the Committee to Protect Journalists dinner in November.<\/p>\n
