ProPublica — the nonprofit journalism organization<\/a> where MrB is editor-in-chief\u00a0 — partnered with Selfless Tee<\/a> to produce a t-shirt last month. The shirt featured a design by Ryan Grossman<\/a> that said “Journalism With Moral Force.” Selfless Tee creates cause-inspired T-shirts that help support a range of non-profits, and ProPublica got $7 from every $22 t-shirt sold. The shirts were only sold through May 2, and MrB neglected to tell me or I would have tweeted the hell out of it! I only found out yesterday when the ProPublicans decided to give purchasers a preview by putting a shirt on MrB and tweeting a photo.<\/p>\n

It’s probably good that this photo wasn’t tweeted while the shirt was still being sold, because I’m not sure the t-shirt-over-a-dress-shirt-and-tie look is going to sweep the nation. Of course, my own trademarked motto is \u201cNever is the next new thing\u2122<\/a>,\u201d so I’m sure I’ll have to eat my words. The cool kids in Tokyo probably started wearing this combination minutes after the tweet went out. The style will get to the New York runways for Fall 2013. Expect to see an inexpensive version in Topshop<\/a> before Fashion Week is over.<\/p>\n
