A Neiman Marcus catalog came in the mail and I was very taken by this pair of gold-on-gray Cavalli jeans.<\/p>\n

I like the eye-catching-yet-somehow-neutral color. But, to be honest, I am also fantasizing that my legs would look as long as the model’s if I wore those jeans.<\/p>\n

That reminds me that in 1999, I got a pair of Cavalli jeans with slit bell-bottoms and a clear, shiny coating that gave the jeans a snakeskin look. (One of those daring things you buy because you’re on vacation.) Because of the coating, the jeans made a “whiff, whiff, whiff” sound as I walked, like corduroys. I’ve always hated that sound. After a few years, I decided the jeans were over-the-top and unflattering and I got rid of them. But I’m no longer sure that I would agree with my 2004\/2005 attitude about crazy jeans. I wish the old jeans were still around so I could give them another try.<\/p>\n

Back in the here and now, the gold Zara pants worn by blogger Folake of Style Pantry<\/a> have me seriously considering the gold option.<\/p>\n

I love the bright color of those pants. But, to be honest, I am also fantasizing that a similar pair would make me as stylish as Folake. I mean it. I’m not just saying that because she gave my jewelry such a nice shout-out recently<\/a>. Maybe with those gold pants I’d manage to put together casual outfits that don’t include a black t-shirt<\/a>. Forget The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants<\/em><\/a> and the jeans that magically fit everyone. I want the jeans that make me realize that lime green and leopard look awesome together.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the New York Times is telling me that mint-green pants are going to be the next hot thing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
