After all the Eminem excitement<\/a>, my sister Terri Berry and I decided to take it easy at Lollapalooza yesterday. We got a couple of Bud Lights, spread our beach towel on the lawn and sat in the sun to listen to the Cars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TerriB was concerned that we wouldn't have enough sun block.<\/p><\/div>\n

I wore a Pucci top I got years ago. According to gorgeous blogger Ann of Annimal House<\/a> — who has the same top —\u00a0 it’s from a 2005\/2006 collection by Matthew Williamson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking of tops, I was amused by this guy’s t-shirt.<\/p>\n

Apparently, she's horrified by this news.<\/p><\/div>\n

After the Cars finished, the clouds crept in. Then the rain started. We got our Totes ponchos on and tried to wait it out …<\/p>\n

TerriB in the rain.<\/p><\/div>\n

… but eventually we fled along with thousands of other people. After an hour or so, the rain subsided so we returned and watched people play in the mud till the Foo Fighters came on.<\/p>\n

Muddy girls.<\/p><\/div>\n

We spread out our black plastic garbage bags — we came prepared — and sat down in a not-so-muddy spot. As the Foo Fighters launched into “The Pretender<\/a>,” TerriB looked over my shoulder and said, “I wonder if that big cloud is going to cause trouble.” I took a look and, according to my sister, turned back with a Larry David-worthy expression.<\/p>\n

A downpour that put the previous rain to shame hit before the song was done. We ran for it. When we got to the train station, I took off my poncho and had TerriB take a picture of my bedraggled state.<\/p>\n

Our shoes were so wet that we bought socks in the train station and wore them home.<\/p>\n

When our father, GeorgeB, picked us up from the train, he said, “Hello, teenagers!” TerriB had been wondering aloud what he thought of us since Saturday, when he dropped us off to catch the train into Chicago. We barely made it to the station on time, so we ran to get to our track. TerriB kept saying to me, “He’s driving us to go to a concert and we’re running off like kids … but we’re adults!”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, I can’t stop wondering what happened to the front-row Foo Fighter fans, having developed a better understanding of their situation due to my front-row Eminem experience. Did the Foo fans desperately hold their ground despite the deluge? After all, they’d probably put in seven hours of waiting time when the first shower hit.\u00a0 Or was the rain so bad they had to abandon their spots? Inquiring minds want to know!<\/p>\n
