{"id":1161,"date":"2009-04-22T16:14:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-22T23:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/?p=1161"},"modified":"2009-06-18T18:36:08","modified_gmt":"2009-06-18T22:36:08","slug":"oh-shame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/oh-shame\/","title":{"rendered":"Oh, the Shame!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I neglected to celebrate the 500-year anniversary of the day that my dear friend, <a href=\"http:\/\/wendybrandes.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/thursday-book-club-the-six-wives-of-henry-viii\/\" target=\"_blank\">Henry VIII <\/a>(also known on the internets as Henry teh 8), acceded to the English throne.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_gTmdbGeiE-E\/Se-eLZYaMMI\/AAAAAAAAHns\/wZT590gVyvA\/s1600-h\/henry%2Bviii.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 218px; height: 320px;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_gTmdbGeiE-E\/Se-eLZYaMMI\/AAAAAAAAHns\/wZT590gVyvA\/s320\/henry%2Bviii.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327650802831601858\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:85%;\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Handsome!<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n<p>I doubt I would have remembered at all if gorgeous blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/shoedaydreams.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Princess Poochie<\/a> hadn&#8217;t sent me <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/culture\/culturenews\/5194183\/Love-letter-from-Henry-VIII-to-Anne-Boleyn-on-display-for-first-time.html\" target=\"_blank\">a story<\/a> about one of Henry&#8217;s love letters to Anne Boleyn going on display in England to mark the anniversary (note: this story gives the date of the anniversary as April 22, but everything else I&#8217;ve seen says April 21). How appalling!
