I guess houndstooth checks and glen plaids are never out of fashion, but seeing checks and plaids on practically everything in Ferragamo’s Fifth Avenue store made me think of Versace from a few years back.<\/p>\n

I think it was about 2004 or 2005 when Versace had a big plaid moment that so entranced me that I got a pair of pants AND a dress in the same pattern.<\/p>\n

After I saw the new Ferragamo pieces, I briefly imagined myself wearing my old Versace dress over the matching pants, and then adding the Ferragamo coat, bag and shoes.\u00a0 I’d definitely look mad, plaid and dangerous to know<\/a>! But I bet Bill Cunningham<\/a> would love it.<\/p>\n

UPDATED AUG. 1, 2011, TO ADD: I’m sure it’s a case of “great minds think alike” but let’s all pretend that Lady Gaga read this post and it inspired this Ferragamo-houndstooth-overdose outfit!<\/p>\n
