I despised chartreuse for years. Decades even. Then, overnight, I fell in love with it<\/a>. I often find that hate turns into love, proving once again that the opposite of love isn’t hate, but indifference<\/a>. For instance, I’ve long hated naked pictures of designer Marc Jacobs, particularly the ad for his Bang fragrance, in which he looks like a deliciously moist roast chicken nestled in aluminum foil<\/a>. But when gorgeous, Kentucky-based blogger Cameron Miquelon of 33 avenue Miquelon<\/a>\u00a0 offered me the naked-Marc-Jacobs t-shirt that came with a purchase of Bang deodorant, I said, “OMG YES PLEASE!” She gave it to me at the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference<\/a> in February and here is the long-overdue picture.<\/p>\n

Cameron also took part in my mood-board contest<\/a> earlier this summer.\u00a0 Participants were promised an interview on this blog.\u00a0 First came Megan Mae<\/a>. Then Wicked Halo<\/a>. Here, at last, is Cameron, the third and final mood-board interviewee. Below is Cameron’s submission, described as “… basically all moody, from the late Steve McQueen giving the British middle finger to Kate Moss smoking on the runway to a group of moody teens who would later lock their parents inside their middle school (Over the Edge<\/em>, 1979 film), even some flowers and a platform with a tarantula inside!”<\/p>\n

WendyB: When did you start blogging and why? <\/strong><\/div>\n

Cameron: I started blogging overall in November of 2009 on Tumblr, then moved to a self-hosted WordPress March 11, 2010. As for why, at first it was to eventually house my podcasts that I made for a smaller audience than the one I see now — this never happened. Around February 2010, I found myself on a Twitter list of “exciting fashion bloggers for AMEX NYFW AW10” as curated by Jennine Jacob (Independent Fashion Bloggers<\/a>, Coveted Media<\/a>). When I saw that list, my first thought was, “I’m a fashion blogger? Really? But I have nudes on my Tumblr, and not always the artsy kind!” This was followed by, “Well, if I am a fashion blogger, then I better get on with it!”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0WendyB: You changed the name of your blog, right? What’s up with that?<\/strong>
\nCameron: I did for two reasons. First, people kept getting the name of my blog wrong. It was named Midnight in a Perfect World, but my URL at that time was perfectmidnight.com<\/a>. The second reason, though, came to me while a few coveteurs<\/a> were trying to ride the coattails of Mme Jacob’s brand earlier in the year. One night, I poodled<\/a> The Coveted and noticed how her blog was the first hit. I then poodled Midnight in a Perfect World, and saw that I was only the second or third hit behind the song of the same name by DJ Shadow. I then said to myself, “Do I want to ride the coattails like those who did so to Jennine, or do I want to be the first hit\u00a0when someone poodles my blog?” From there, I eventually came up with 33 avenue Miquelon, bought the URL, and made the change February 1. Speaking of name changes, though, a month or two later, I changed my username from Lady Cameron XIII — a name that started as an in-joke with a few friends of mine on IRC<\/a> a couple of years before — to Cameron Miquelon. Brought everything back home, changed my name to fit the brand, then adopted it as my working identity.<\/em><\/p>\n

WendyB: What did you get out of attending the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference and hanging out in New York in February 2011?<\/strong>
\nCameron: I got to meet a lot of my favorite bloggers — like you — as well as feeling a sense that someone who wondered if her blog was fashionable enough for IFB back when I applied to become a member nearly a year go this July actually made it. Sure, no money is being made right now and no one’s contacted me to feature a product — probably because I’ve yet to post eight photos of the same outfit every time I make a post — but I felt like I hit the big time in a way. As for hanging out in NYC, that was an experience, from taking the subway — and possibly catching something from it as I was ill for the rest of the time — to getting lost trying to find one of the shows to the wind blowing everywhere… ahhh! \u00a0Oh, and the taxi TV was awesome; no taxi here has even a divider, let alone a TV!<\/em><\/p>\n

WendyB: Was that your first trip to New York? Will you be back? <\/strong>
\nCameron: It was indeed, and you better believe I’ll be back. I may even venture out to Times Square next time and pay my NYC co-workers from my day job a visit, too!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

WendyB: Where do you live now?
\n<\/strong>Cameron: <\/em>I live in Louisville, Ky., and have been for nearly four years after a 29-year-long absence that began a month or so after I was born; I also lived in Kansas and Washington State.<\/em><\/p>\n

WendyB: What’s the best part of living there? What’s the worst?<\/strong>
\nCameron: Being near my family and residing in a place that welcomes all with open arms, no matter who or what they are. We even have an ordinance that prohibits\u00a0discrimination\u00a0against sexual orientation and\u00a0gender\u00a0identity\/expression in housing, employment and public\u00a0accommodations, one of three cities in the Commonwealth to do so. The worst? I’d say it’s a toss between downtown (tourist areas like Fourth Street Live fail to show Louisville for what it is) and the city’s mass transit system; I know it can be worse — ask anyone in Wichita, Kan. — but I’d love TARC<\/a> to be up to the level of, say, Seattle or Pittsburgh at the very least. Not expecting it to be like New York, but TARC and the city could do better moving us all around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

WendyB: Should the next IFB conference be held there?
\n<\/strong>Cameron: Hell yeah! We have a few art galleries that probably could give the same vibe that MILK Studios has, and I wouldn’t mind acting as a tour guide. Plus, we make all the bourbon you can stand to drink, wine from local wineries, microbreweries for the beer drinkers, at least four or five pizza places in my neighborhood alone — and only two national chain pizza places — clothing boutiques, fine dining, theatre, art, a great music scene (My Morning Jacket, anyone?), river boat cruises… should I continue?<\/em><\/p>\n

WendyB: What’s your mood right now?
\n<\/strong>Cameron:<\/em> Relaxed; love talking about my city and being a blogger any day over talking about what I do for a living.<\/em><\/p>\n

WendyB: What DO you do for a living?<\/strong>
\nCameron: My day job?
