Shopping My Closet for a Square Bag

June 19, 2017 by WendyB

Shout out to New York Magazine for alerting me to this square bag by Moynat.

Click for website.

I’ve been inspired to dust off my old square bag by Muxart. (Isn’t it odd that the brand names are so close?)

Bag by Muxart.

It was never as glamorous as the Moynat bag and it’s a little the worse for wear now, but it is adequate. Also, it doesn’t cost $3,600 like the Moynat bag. (You could get a limited-edition, 18K gold ring for not much more than that.)  The Muxart bag is one of my pre-blog acquisitions, so I’m not sure of its history. I suspect I got it at Henri Bendel in the early 2000s, but I wouldn’t swear to it. No matter what, this bag qualifies as homegrown vintage. Of that, I’m sure!
