It’s the Surreal Thing

July 30, 2007 by WendyB

When I was in London a few months ago, I saw a terrific exhibit on surrealism at the V&A. They had some cute tromp l’oeil t-shirts in the gift shops. I got the one shown here for those days I want to feel like I’m in the cast of “Oliver!” I really wanted this one instead but they only had it in Large that day. The tape measure shirt is good for you designing types, and you can pair it with this tote if you like to be matchy-matchy. The “designer” handbags are quite amusing too. Get yourself a “Birkin” for a mere 80 pounds! Another fun museum shop is the one at the Andy Warhol Museum.

UPDATED TO ADD: Great minds think alike. Aloha Rag has discovered these t-shirts too, and they have some designs that that the V&A didn’t have. The brand name is Insideout and they’re based in London.
