The Road to Floral Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions

December 27, 2015 by WendyB

For my parents’ 50th anniversary yesterday, I was so excited for them to receive the special bouquet I had sent them.

The flowers that were promised.

I’ve been laughing uncontrollably at the floral disaster that was actually delivered.

What. The. Fuck.

I stopped laughing long enough to write an email demanding my money back. I’ll use the refund to buy my parents dinner the next time I see them!

UPDATED TO ADD: My sister and niece were staying with my parents this week so I figured I’d send them flowers too. My niece loves purple so I picked this.

So much purple!

Here’s what they got.

Are those wilting already?

Why do businesses think they can get away with this shit? I’m coming for you, Flower Delivery Express! Sigh. I normally have such good luck with local florists, but it was difficult to find anyone who would deliver my parents’ neighborhood on December 26. Too bad I didn’t find the “Flower Delivery Express / Wesley Berry Flowers is A SCAM” page on Facebook till after these things were delivered!

UPDATED TO ADD: I got my money back!

I usually go with a local florist, I don’t know WHAT I was thinking.

Wow, those are some seriously crap-tastic floral “arrangements!”

It’s funny but aggravating at the same time. I mean, I’ve been ripped off but I have to laugh at the ugliness.

Wow, I actually called Wesley Berry this morning to send flowers to my Aunt for her 80th Birthday. I thought they were a local florist, but when I called it sounded like a sort of processing center. So I said thanks, and hung up.

I called another place instead. Then just clicked on your blog! Weird.

But yes, whenever I order flowers to be sent, I do wonder what they followed my instructions at all. Or if they lived for more than a day or two.

Whoa! I’m so glad you didn’t go through with it.

If I’m sending in NYC, I have a bunch of good high-end local places to call. I even have researched local places when sending somewhere else. I don’t know why I lost my mind this time. I guess I really just liked that photo!

Wow def update us on this if you want to. I’m really unhappy about it because I used to work in a seasonal gift setting and when things weren’t available we provided equivalently priced items. The bouquet sent to you was in my experience, not even close in equivalent look or price. It gives the industry a bad name. What a shame.

I know, right? It should at least still be ATTRACTIVE! I’ve sent several messages (including a tweet) to the company, contacted the lawyer who is trying to file suit against them, reported to the Better Business Bureau AND filed a complaint with the FTC. I’m ON THE CASE! LOL.
