Three Bloggers, Two Hats, One Ring

January 29, 2010 by WendyB

One of my jewelers has developed a passion for taking videos with his iPhone.  Here I am looking dubious about it.

I’m wearing the hat gorgeous blogger Jennine got for me at Tar-Jay. I think it’s a lot better than this chicken hat that I tried on while out on the town with another gorgeous blogger, ENC of Observationmode.

I didn't buy this.

My jeweler also shot a little video of a project I’m working on for a third gorgeous blogger, Deja Pseu (also known as Susan).  Susan asked for her engagement ring to be redesigned in a style inspired by my Siobhan perma-stacked stacking rings. This is the wax model of the five bands we’re creating for Susan. The original design has 10 bands, but those are very skinny. This time I needed a wide center band for Susan’s diamonds.

Those are Susan’s actual stones in the middle of the model.

I love to redesign old jewelry. I created these three stacking rings for ENC from one old-fashioned cocktail ring that she never wore. If you have jewelry that’s not your style, but to which you have an emotional attachment because of the giver, let me create a new design for you! Holla at me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com.

OK, do you really think it’s alright to tease us with 12 seconds and a squeak of your voice? 🙂 The ring model is fascinating. Love seeing stuff like that. Susan must be thrilled to bits. And I think the Enc rings are some of the most gorgeous jewels you’ve made. So perfect for her…

    hey
your voice is as sweet as you look, but I thought it would have been more like your rapier wit! It is surprising.
    Loved it 🙂
And funnily enough the anti spam word required is soprano!

    OK, many things to say…
First, your interview is great — 6 seconds of WendyB!
You should do more. Second, the ring is HUGE and amazing. Lucky girl. Third, what a fantastic thought — refashioning jewelry that we are not necessarily in love with because it was a gift, or whatever. I know you could do amazing things and I bet most people don’t even think of doing that.

i am coveting a hunking cameo cocktail ring. i found a designer who made one but she only worked on an enquiry basis and she never responded to my query!!

I love the way you re-styled Susan’s ring. That’s a modern and clean look she will be able to wear with joy and pride for years to come. Those are beautiful stones, too!

(I love my stacking rings, too. What a great job you did recycling my grandmother’s older stones from a wacky ’60s cocktail ring into something I can actually use! Plus, the story I have to tell now is brilliant. I’ve got my grandmother’s heirloom stones in rings designed by my good friend.)
